Felted Wizard's Hat

I keep checking the comments on Cheryl's blog entry a week or so ago with the great photo of the felted wizard's hat pattern to find out where she found the pattern, but she hasn't told us yet. Cheryl, if you're out there, I'm dying to know where to get it!

Thanks!

I've seen a pattern for a wizard's hat in a book, but I don't remember precisely.

I'm pretty sure it was a book of knits for kids by Vicki Howell. You knit the hat, felt it in the washing machine, and needle felt designs on it.

I'll see if I can find more info.

I am so sorry, I bought it on EBAY, I started my wizard hat. I don't know if the patter is readily available. I just got in from a 16 hour night shift and promise to check back this evening with more info.....

OK, I looked it up. It's New Knits on the Block by Vicki Howell.

This has just the pointed hat without the brim. You'd have to figure out how to add a brim if you want to use this pattern.

It's very nice, and if you make a hat, with or without the brim, you'll probably want to use the techniques described in this book.

An added bonus is that it's available used on Amazon for around $4 at the moment. If everybody runs over there and buys up the cheap copies, check out half.com. They usually have used books like this.

I just bought my own copy, with shipping for $6.66. Omenious number. I'm hoping for a Friday delivery.

I don't remember the rest of the projects especially, but they mentioned a princess crown. There may be some techniques of interest even if we aren't interested in making those particular patterns.
