The yarn is my own handspun and I'm not using any pattern. I'm doing double knitting, which is an easy way to knit a tube using two straight needles. For those who haven't ever tried it, all you do is cast on an even number of stitches, then knit one, slip one purlwise with your yarn in front, and repeat to the end of the row. And then you do the same thing on the way back. This will give a fabric that looks like stockinette on both sides.
I'm going to continue the color pattern until the front of the tie is done or until I run out of the bronze and blue (what you see on the pic is all that I have of those colors).
In other news, I'm continuing to read Chamber of Secrets.

I've been wanting to try the double knitting technique. A tie sounds like a good item to try it on. It would also make good use of my leftover Potter yarns.
Maybe I'll have to give it a try too!
