Hello!

I am thrilled I found this knitalong. I have loved the Harry Potter books since Chamber of Secrets came out. It is bittersweet for me though as I am sad to see the ending. I will be attending the release party at my local bookstore and I may go in costume.

I digress, I am also Emily and I have 4 youngsters ages 5 (almost 6), 4, 3 and 2. My kids adore Harry Potter and I am wanting to make them all scarves. They want to dress up for Halloween as HP chars as well. I believe Snape is good and that Malfoy will come to the Light. I felt bad for lack of Slytherin love, so I had to get sorted (and yes, yummy men there as well). I don't know if any of you have seen it but there is a book coming out soon. I really want get a copy when it comes out... it looks so fun!

Look forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome, Emily.

I've never been to a release party - that would be fun.

Dumbledore had quite a bit of faith in Snape and I can't believe he would have made a mistake in judging Snape's character. So I am anxious to find out what really happened at the end of GOF. I do have my speculations. And I too would like Malfoy to come around.

I am going to the midnight release and this time my dog will be going as an Animagus! She has a black rain jacket that looks like a hooded cape and she can wear my brothers old round glasses. I cannot wait.

I have ordered Alison's book as well. I hope there is a quick knit in there I could make for the release - that would be fun.

As much as I love Dumbledore I am drawn to those darker, dangerous men. Snape and the movie Lucius! Luscious, more like.

Whoops, I do think Snape is good and I hold out hope for Draco - I think he was much abused by his father and the path he is on was not really his choice.

Goodness - I hope that didn't sound like I loooved DD - I think of him as pure figure of love/father. While I want that for myself I am attracted to darker people more keenly - does that make sense? Or do I still sound like a raving psycho?
:-D
